Agate is nature’s own reflection of itself. This lovely agate stone seems to have captured the colors and feeling of the land of the Navajo Reservation. The rust and black colored stone has been set in an elegant bezel that highlights the beauty of the stone. The piece is unsigned and in excellent condition.

Agate is a microcrystalline variety of quartz (silica), characterized by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. Although agates may be found in various kinds of rock, they are classically associated with volcanic rocks but can be common in certain metamorphic rocks.  According to Wikipedia: coral, petrified wood and other organic remains or porous rocks can also become agatized.
