Some of the northern New Mexico Pueblos celebrate their northern neighbors through dances in Plains Indian clothing such as beaded leggings and feathered headdresses. San Ildefonso Pueblo traditionally performs a Comanche Dance on January 23rd each year. Taos Pueblo, the most northern of all, also performs Plains-style dances.

In this instance, Daughters has portrayed a traditional Plains Indian dance at Taos Pueblo, highlighting the dance actions of one participant, while blanket-wrapped drummers perform to the side.

This charcoal drawing was completed in 1970. It is signed and dated in lower right. It is an exquisite drawing illustrating well the enormous talent of the artist.

It appears to be in original excellent condition. It is matted in a linen mat and framed in a gold wood frame.
