This absolutely wonderful pottery bird from Laguna Pueblo is mounted on a sliver of wood.  This figurine is beautifully decorated with an elaborate and bold floral element on each side of the body.  There is an orange design on the head probably representing feathers.  The most unusual part of the paint is the beak which has been painted with a green mineral source.  It appears that the mineral paint was added over the regular paint.  Why?  I have no idea but it certainly makes it a unique piece.

Condition:  very good condition.  The tip of the tail has been glued in place but the repair is not easily noticed.

Provenance: from the collection of a gentleman from Colorado
