Potter Once Known

This cream-slipped over micaceous clay figurine is from the 1880s.  It represents the transition from micaceous clay slip to the use of cream slip over the clay.  The hair of this Tesuque Rain God is sculpted and extends over the forehead in the style of the 1880s figurines.  It was at that time that ears were added to the dolls.
