Antoinette Concha (1964- )

Antoinette Concha (1964-present) is a daughter of Alma Concha (Maestas), originally from Jemez Pueblo.  Alma married a resident of Taos Pueblo and moved to his pueblo where Antoinette was born, so technically, she is probably registered in both Taos and Jemez Pueblos.  This storyteller figurine is signed with her name and Taos Pueblo and is dated 1977 and noted that she was age 13 at the time.

The figurine is a female holding one child and is quite remarkable for a 13-year-old artist to produce.

 Antoinette Concha (1964-present) signature

Condition:  very good condition with only minor paint abrasion but that is not serious.

Provenance:  This storyteller was purchased by a resident of Albuquerque from whose estate we just acquired it.
