Channel inlay is the process of a lapidary artisan setting the stones between silver strips in a mosaic format.  This is not an easy process and takes the steady hands of a true artisan.  This pair of earrings was beautifully constructed with the dangle covered in three triangular-shaped pieces of turquoise, each separated by silver strips.  Three silver drops are attached to the bottom of the dangle.

The southwest Indian jewelry earrings are for pierced ears and each post is covered in a domed tear-drop turquoise cab.  The earrings appear to date from the mid-20th century.
