Zuni petit-point work is extremely difficult to make. Each little tiny stone needs to be cut and shaped to fit each little tiny bezel. The stone and bezel then need to be soldered to the silver base which in this pair of earrings has been shaped to resemble a snowflake.

The southwest Indian jewelry earrings were originally old-fashioned screw backs but have been converted for use with pierced ears.  They appear to date to the mid-20th century.
