Alph H. SecakukuAdd Alph H. Secakuku to My PreferencesAlph H. Secakuku was born in the Hopi village of Supawlavi on Second Mesa, Arizona, to the Snake Clan. His mother is a decendant of the Snake Clan people from the villiage of Paaqavi on the Third Mesa.
Alph spent the first twenty years of his life learning the traditions and cultural teachings of the Hopi. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for twenty-four years, retiring in 1994. In his retirement, Alph serves as an artist (carver of kachina dolls, stone sculptor, and painter) and lecturer on the subject of Hopi tradition and culture.
