Mary Martin (1927-2011) signatureCochiti Pueblo had a long history of producing figurative pottery. It reached its prime in the last quarter of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century.  There was a strong revival in the early 1970s with the production of storyteller figurines. Some potters at Cochiti expanded beyond storyteller figurines. Mary Martin (1927-2011) Tsiranitsia was one of them.

Mary is related to the following artists: Stephanie Rhoades - Snowflake Flower and Ada Suina (cousins).

Felecita Eustace of Cochiti Pueblo came to the gallery on July 7th, 2011 and told us that Mary Martin, Cochiti potter, passed away in June, 2011.
