Weaver Unknown Akimel O´odham (Pima) 16" Diameter x 4” Deep Item # C2475I SOLD One of the most beautiful basketry designs is the “butterfly wings.” At first, it may appear to be a unique design, but research has shown that most Pima designs originate as variations of the fret and squash blossom patterns. There is a certain relationship in nearly all the geometrical designs. Most designs are arranged in four or five segments radiating outward from a central disk. The butterfly design is no exception. This basket is extraordinary and in excellent condition.
