Stella Tafoya Chavarria is from Santa Clara Pueblo born in 1939 is the daughter of Teresita Naranjo-Apple Blossom wife of Loretto Chayarria. Stella won her first award (first Place for jar up to 8" tall) at Indian Market in Santa Fe in 1984.
Stella Chavarria (1939- ) has been making blackware wedding vases, jars, and bowls since 1955.
