Polychrome Acoma Tall Neck Jar [SOLD]

This Acoma Pueblo vase was obviously made for sale as a flower vase, or perhaps simply as a souvenir, however, it certainly features traditional construction techniques. Acoma features are present in the coarse white paste, the ground pottery shards as temper, the orange-red paint, and the rag-wiped white slip. This vase has an orange-red band around the neck, with a polychrome decoration around the body of the vessel and a black and white triangular-shaped design band around the neck.

The base is signed Acoma, N.M. The vessel is in excellent condition, however there are some small areas of spalling, but they are not significant.
