Special Offer: This bowl has been reduced by 50% from the original price of $175 to a new price of $87.50 because of the minor rim chip.
This is a fine Santo Domingo stew bowl that follows the pueblo's traditions in every aspect of materials, construction and design. The main body is decorated in black vegetal paint and red mineral paint over the cream-colored rag-wiped bentonite slip.
The design is divided into six rectangular panels, each one of which is decorated with triangular elements. Four of the panels are presented in black on cream and two in polychrome elements. The artist signed her initials P.N. and S.D.P. on the underside.
Condition: There is a minor rim chip that apparently occurred when the bowl was made as the artist painted a black rim over the already existing rim chip.
