The Navajo traditionally used collar tabs as decorative items on blouses or shirts. Normally they would be sewn onto the fabric like buttons. This pair has had the small eye tabs removed and a security bar and lock installed so that they may be worn as pins. The designs have been applied through repoussé and stamping.

Note that there is a small area (shown at the top of the right tab above) where the patina has been removed.
