Zuni Mosaic Inlay Butterfly Pin [R]

This is one of the most perfectly made Zuni mosaic inlay pieces I have seen in a long time. The unknown artist has carefully set pieces of turquoise, jet, mother of pearl and shell in a symmetrical design that mimics a real butterfly. The stones are set stone-to-stone in a saw tooth bezel and surrounded by little silver drops. Two larger drops form the eyes of the butterfly.
