Zuni Pueblo Petit Point Ring [R]

Early Zuni petit point work, as fine as in this ring, is difficult to find. This sterling silver ring is set with ten very small oval turquoise stones. Each stone was cut and shaped and then set carefully in a saw-tooth bezel. Silver wire rope intertwines between the stones. Some of the stones have darkened over the decades which occur from absorption of body oils from ones hands. There is a lovely delicate balance to this piece that one rarely sees in the current market.
