Absolutely Amazing Acoma Polychrome Plate [SOLD]

Rebecca Lucario is known for a variety of pottery shapes, particularly for OLLAS, plates, and seed jars.  She has produced intricate fine-line designs, Mimbres animal designs and geometric designs. She is reported to have begun making pottery around 1965, at age 14.  She has always been recognized as one of the finest potters at Acoma Pueblo today and has been rewarded with many awards at Santa Fe Indian Market, including Best of Show for a shallow dish in 2000.

This shallow bowl or plate borders on the impossible.  I do not believe a computer-generated program could produce a design to equal the one on this plate.  I find it difficult to even describe how incredible this is. Inch after inch after inch of intricate painting leaves me without words that are sufficient to accurately describe the time and patience, not to mention talent and experience, it took to complete this visually stunning masterpiece.

I might as well stop trying to describe it as it speaks for itself.  One cannot help but be impressed with this plate. It is signed Acoma N M  R. Lucario 2018.
