Artist Image Source: Southern Pueblo Pottery: 2,000 Artist Biographies by Gregory Schaaf. This is an extraordinary small jar decorated entirely in black on white, with polychrome accents on the rim. It was formed of native clay and painted with paint made from boiling the leaf of the Rocky Mountain Bee plant. The design was a new one for the Rustins when they created it in 2005. This is the first jar on which they used it. The rim was formed from two slabs of clay that overlap at their ends. They represent eagles flying over the village.

This is a visual masterpiece from the Rustins. It was beautifully formed, symmetrical in shape, and dazzling in design.  Unfortunately, Patrick (ca. 1970-) and Shawa (1969-) separated over a decade ago and no longer work together. Only pottery by them coming out of collections will be available.
