The imaginative silversmith who made this unique bracelet took a familiar form and used it in an innovative manner. La Concha is Spanish for seashell, and the iconic shape has been used by Southwestern artists in belts and bolos for over one hundred years. However, the use in bracelets is relatively rare.
This Navajo-made bracelet features a fabricated oval concha with a round spiderweb turquoise cab set in the center. The silver concha is set on a heavy gauge hand stamped shank. The stampwork is precisely rendered with arrowheads and a series of geometric shapes. The overall look is classic elegance. It dates from the late 20th century. It is unsigned.
Condition: The Bracelet with Concha and Fine Stampwork is in excellent condition.
Provenance: From the extensive Southwest Indian Jewelry collection of a family from Colorado
