The heavy silver content of this belt buckle is an indication that it was probably made in the early 20th century from Ingot silver.  The edges of the Navajo made buckle were sculpted in curves with stamping along its edges.  The southwest Indian jewelry buckle is domed, rather than flat, a technique that greatly improves its appearance. The whole surface is profusely stamped with a variety of traditional designs.  There are eight round and oblong turquoise stones, ranging from blue to green, mounted in silver bezels.  The use of a variety of turquoise colors is an indication of an older item.  This is an extraordinary buckle with a long history to its existence.

Condition: very good condition
