The process of making channel inlay requires patience and precision. The lapidary work in this earrings and pin set is an excellent example of carefully crafted mid-century Zuni channel inlay.  The screw back dangle earrings are composed of two parts—a diamond shaped top piece from which a bottom portion loosely swings. The lower part of the earrings is comprised of small sections of turquoise cut in rectangular shapes and set within silver channels. The circle pin is crafted in a similar style. The set is unsigned and dates from the mid 20th Century.

Condition: There is evidence of wear to the items which has changed the color of turquoise in several areas.

Provenance: The Silver and Turquoise Channel Inlay Screw Back Earrings and Pin Set is from the inheritance of a daughter of the Balcomb family, owners of several art galleries of Native American art and objects in the post-WWII era until the 1970s when they closed their last gallery.
