Stamped Sterling Silver and Jet Three Piece Bracelet, Ring, Necklace SET [SOLD]

This sterling silver and jet jewelry set is striking and classic, with a southwestern style.  The jet has been highly polished throughout and makes it hard to decipher if the black stones are onyx or jet.  When examined closely, the stones reveal their secret: jet is not crystalline in nature but grows from trees.  These stones have very distinct striations indicative of their arboreal nature.  This structure also makes the jet very light weight in comparison to others like it.  When polished in this way, it has been used in traditional Native American jewelry of the Southwest in the creation of very stunning but very easy to wear pieces.  

The necklace is built upon a handmade silver chain of alternating ovals and circles, and features four smaller teardrop pieces of jet, each set in stylized silver backings and arranged in groups of two on either side of the central largest jet teardrop.  The five pieces are each approximately one inch from one another, with the central piece hanging nine inches from either end of the chain. 

The bracelet features a large oval piece of jet set into stamped and swirling sterling silver designs.  The jet is framed by coils of silver, with rain clouds around a sun on either side. When looked at in another way, these clouds and sun resemble insects.  Wrapping the wrist are four strips of silver, each either coiled and twisted or stamped. The ring mimics the bracelet in that a central oval piece of jet is framed with silver designs and sits flatly on the top of a band which splits into three as it expands toward the jet on either side, supporting this feature.

Condition: There are some very light scratches on the jet of the bracelet, and some slight tarnish on the back of the pieces, but otherwise this jewelry set is in great condition
