This small bowl is most likely one used for serving at the table rather than for eating from as it is too small for eating purposes.  It is a traditional Zia style with stone polished red slip on the interior and on the lower exterior surface.  The design was executed in brown mineral pigment over a creamy white slip.

 

Condition: a crack on the exterior does not penetrate to the interior.  Some abrasion to the paint.

Provenance: from a gentleman from Santa Fe
