Zuni Pueblo artists began making petit point jewelry in the 1920s. It was a response to the embroidery style of the same name which was popular at the time, and it fit in with the Zuni lapidary tradition of working with extremely small pieces of stone, especially turquoise. These floral petit point earrings were extremely well executed and feature a pendant of eight tiny teardrop-shaped pieces of turquoise set in sawtooth bezels and arranged in a floral pattern. The pendant hangs from a single stone post. They are from the last quarter of the 20th Century and are unsigned.

Condition: the Zuni Petit Point Earrings with Floral Design are in excellent condition.
