Many times when looking at Zuni petit point work, one must think of the amount of time it took to make something so delicate and dainty.  Even more than its needle and thread counterpart, turquoise and silver petit point requires patience and precision. Every tiny stone must be cut exactly and set securely in a small bezel.

This little pin resembles a blooming flower with tiny turquoise and silver petals. The unknown Zuni lapidary artist shaped the stones and then placed them interspersed with silver drops and twisted wire on a silver background. Each piece of turquoise rests in its own handmade sawtooth bezel. It is an excellent example of high-quality Zuni petit point jewelry.
