Diné Silver and Turquoise Ring with Serpent [SOLD]

This early twentieth century silver and turquoise ring is beautifully adorned with a silver serpent that curls around the turquoise and rests its head and tail on top of the gemstone.  The silver platform on which tops the ring is concealed by the body of the serpent as it coils around the perimeter. The serpent’s body is scored to resemble scales and its tail is scored to represent the rattle.

The turquoise is a beautiful dark green and has a crack in it but it is very secure in the bezel that surrounds it and the serpent that covers the top.  The shank is solid at the bottom and split into three prongs at the top. The age of the ring has been determined by the wear pattern around the edges. Such wear could not happen without considerable wear by a person.

Condition: this Diné Silver and Turquoise Ring with Serpent is in very good condition. The turquoise has a crack, but it is very secure in the bezel.
