A single turquoise cabochon of a robin’s egg blue was expertly set in traditional Diné manner in this classic mid-century bracelet. The Diné aesthetic is one where an artist uses skillfully rendered silverwork to frame and highlight the natural beauty of a single gemstone. In this bracelet the artist selected one incredibly beautiful blue turquoise gemstone and then, using deft craftsmanship, fashioned an elegant frame to display it..
The bracelet consists of three bands, two triangular-shaped ones and a thinner one between. The outer bands are stamped with crescent-shaped stamps that remind one of rain clouds. Set on the foundation is the oval gemstone of robin’s egg blue turquoise. It is placed in a straight edged bezel which is surrounded by a segment of twisted wire. On either side of the center cabochon are stamped silver drops. The bracelet has a nice heavy feel and was finely crafted. It is unsigned.
