This twentieth century Navajo jewelry ring consists of a narrow oval cab of sky-blue turquoise set in an elegant frame of small silver drops. The turquoise gemstone is an amazing blue color. The ring is unsigned. It was made by a talented but unknown Diné silversmith.

The oval and domed turquoise cabochon was set in a silver bezel and secured to a flat silver backing. Silver wire wraps around the top and bottom of the gemstone, the ends of which curl on the sides of the turquoise. Where the pair of curls meet, a silver drop was placed. The silver shank splits to a V at the base of the ring top.

We have found that it is quite successful to increase or decrease the size of a ring band. If the ring is within one size, larger or smaller than your needs, a proper adjustment can be made.

Note: when we say Diné, as opposed to Navaho or Navajo, we are referring to the people and not the government.  Since 1969, their government refers to itself as the Navajo Nation.

Condition: this Diné Ring with Oval Turquoise Gemstone and Silver Drops is in like-new condition. The stone is intact, and the silver is untarnished.

Provenance: from a collector in Colorado
