The squash blossom hairstyle of unmarried Hopi women has been incorporated into this little Zuni pendant. An unknown artist meticulously cut and shaped multiple pieces of stone and set them into small channels of silver, creating the representation of a Hopi maiden. Using turquoise, jet and coral, the artist fabricated the dress of the maiden. Small pieces of black jet were used to make the traditional squash blossom whorls of her hair style. White shell was used to make her face and traditional white moccasins. The pendant is unsigned and is placed on a delicate sterling silver chain. The craftsmanship of this jewelry piece is excellent.

Condition: The Zuni Pueblo Maiden Channel Inlay Necklace - Pendant is in excellent condition, the stones are intact and the inlay is firm.

Provenance: The necklace comes from an extensive jewelry collection from a Colorado family
