Grace Chino constructed an absolutely symmetrical and well formed jar on which she then applied a design mostly centered on three parrots, each under a protective double rainbow. Each of the parrots is clutching a floral element. Between the three parrot/rainbow elements, are black and white rectangular boxes enclosing fine line rain and attached black clouds. Triangular rain clouds hover over the rainbows.
Grace Chino was a daughter of Marie Z. Chino and she was an extremely competent potter. Her pottery was exhibited in the 1974 "Seven Families in Pueblo Pottery" at Maxwell Museum, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, and also at the 1979 exhibit "One Space: Three Visions" at Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque. She was a regular participant at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
Condition: With the exception of two very small spall spots, the jar is in original excellent condition.
