Navajo-made Turquoise and Silver Pin [SOLD]

Nine absolutely beautiful deep blue (probably Blue Gem) turquoise domed cabochons have been set in silver bezels on a silver backing to form this exquisite pin. I am not expert at determining the mine of origin of turquoise but I believe these are Blue Gem stones. The beautiful sky blue color is typical of that mine.

A second companion pin to this one is our item #C2942C1. The two make a beautiful pair and could be worn together.

Provenance: From the estate of Transcendental artist Florence Pierce of Albuquerque who passed away in 2007 at the age of 89. She was best known for luminescent paintings made of pigmented resins on reflective surfaces. Her interest in abstraction began in the 1930s when she was an associate of the Transcendental Painting Group. The New York Times called her “the doyenne of abstract art in the Southwest” following her art exhibit in New York City in 2006.
