- Category: Paintings
- Origin: Diné of the Navajo Nation
- Medium: Casein
- Size: 16" x 16" image
- Item # C2962Q SOLD
This painting of a young Navajo girl was executed in the extraordinary detail of all of Beatien Yazz's paintings. She is apparently running as evidenced by her raised foot and the manner in which her hair, skirt and scarf are flying in the air.
It is quite likely that Yazz painted this one at the same time as the young Navajo boy that we posted as Item #C2962R. The subjects of the two paintings are both running and both paintings are on similar artist board and are the same size. It is evident that he intended these two paintings to be sold as a pair.
Condition: The painting is in original excellent condition. It has not been framed, only shrink-wrapped.
Provenance: This painting is among a collection from the Balcomb family, formerly owners of an art gallery which they closed in 1976.
