A charming female storyteller figurine entitled “Know You Are Blessed.” It is hand built of commercial clay and decorated with native and commercial paints. The adult figurine is wearing a traditional tablita, a dance headpiece worn by pueblo women, and has clinging to her a total of seven children. She has her eyes closed and her mouth open, both symbolic of thinking and telling stories. Her hair is tied up in the back of her head in a chonga, a traditional pueblo hair style. The children, all of whom are females, have their hair tied up in the traditional style of an unmarried maiden. Signed A. Nah. and dated '98.
