The Kuwan Heheya or Colorful Heheya is one of the group dancers often chosen for the Niman Katsina on First Mesa. This carving appears to be pre- 1960 based on style of carving and paints used. He has a yarn ruff around his neck and sports a hand-woven white cotton rain sash around his waist. The red bandolier across his chest is a strip of felt material. He has a rattle in his right hand and a Sun tablita in his left hand.
He is complete and shows no damage. There appears to be a drop of oil on the back of his right leg, but attempts to remove it might remove some paint. The back of his left leg looks like a drop or two of water fell on the yellow paint. Overall, it is in excellent condition for a carving of this age.
