Original Painting “Desert Landscape" [R]

Dillingham pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the University of New Mexico, graduating in 1974. It must have been his freshman year when he painted this canvas. It is dated 1971.

I was not aware that Dillingham painted easel art (only knew of his work as a ceramicist) until I saw two canvasses hanging at the Museum of New Mexico Fine Arts Museum. This one is only the third one I have ever seen.

It's a marvelous painting and a very soothing and relaxing one. It expresses very well the feeling of a desert landscape.
