This jar is decorated with a design of older Zuni ceramics. The design of the body is repeated five times around the circumference of the vessel. The neck design differs from that of the body, which is traditional practice at Zuni. This design in its entirety is not found on any of the jars collected by the Stevensons for the Smithsonian in the 1870s and 1880s, therefore a date of circa 1900 has been established. (Lanmon & Lanmon). The jar is in excellent condition. There is no evidence of repair or restoration.
