While recovering from a broken neck during his childhood, Theodore Suina (Ku Pe Ru) was encouraged to take painting more seriously from Geronima Montoya at Santa Fe Indian School. As a result he mastered many single figures such as this horno. He later became the Governor of Cochiti Pueblo, NM.
