Sterling Silver Match Holder with Knifewing Design [R]

This match holder was designed to accommodate the fold-over paper lid matchbook. It has an opening in the front to expose the striker strip. The Zuni Knifewing mythological figure is overlaid on the silver lid, which itself is stamped with tree forms and cloud elements. The backside is stamped with hourglass elements in cruciform layout. The maker’s hallmark is stamped on the interior.
