Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise Ring with Flower Design [SOLD]

Handmade jewelry is often given to Navajo children such as this Sterling Silver and Turquoise Ring with Flower Design. It is not unusual to see young Navajo girls attending special occasions adorned with beautiful pieces of silver and turquoise. Loving family members consider gifts of jewelry to be a symbol of respect and admiration.

This small ring is typical of a piece that would have been made to give to a young girl. Seven small turquoise stones have been arranged in a flower design, secured in plain silver bezels attached to a flat silver backing and mounted on a split shank. The stones are unique in that four of them are green and three are a sky blue. The artist who created this piece formed the bezels to match the contours of each small stone.

It is not hard to image this piece on the hand of a young girl on her way to a very special occasion.

Condition:  this Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise Ring with Flower Design is in very good condition. The stones are in good shape, a few have surface cracks, but that is consistant with the age of the piece.
