This settle was made from quarter-sawn oak. The arms are splayed outward in a fashion that provides for more comfort. One does not feel being boxed in when sitting near an arm. The back panel, too, is splayed outward for added comfort. The seat, back and interior arm panels are upholstered in black leather or faux leather. The settle does not display a manufacturer’s label. It is a period piece, dating the early part of the 20th century.
Provenance: This American Arts and Crafts Two-Seat Settle with Black Upholstery was recently used in the television series Manhattan (Project), filmed here in New Mexico.
