Nature and wildlife in its natural element were things that Beatien Yazz understood well having spent his childhood on the Navajo Reservation. Animals freely roamed the land with few disruptions from humans.
This piece, which includes separate paintings of two squirrels and a single leaping deer, is a very simple example of Yazzs work. It seems likely that the artist had meant for this to be two different pieces of art since both individual images are signed to the right. They could easily be separated and framed as a pair.
Condition: The painting is in original excellent condition. It has never been framed and is currently shrink-wrapped for protection.
Provenance: From the collection of the family of Balcomb’s Ranch Gallery, Colorado.
