Doug Coffin is a painter of contemporary art and a sculptor. He says that his sense of apartness comes from his Potawatomi/Creek Indian roots. He spent his first 20 years living on the grounds of the Indian boarding school in Lawrence, Kansas, where his father was a sports coach. During the summers, he went to stay with his grandmother on the Potawatomi Reservation.

 

This bronze is numbered 3 of an edition of 12.  It was cast in 1997 and a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by the artist, accompanies the purchase.
