Edward Borein Fine Art European American Paintings Painting European American Artist signature

Edward Borein was himself a cowboy and lived the life of such so his art reflects his everyday knowledge of cowboy life. His Indian subjects, of course, were based on his observations and knowledge of the Southwest United States. The information provided on this etching was based on information in the catalogue raisonné of Borein etchings entitled The Etchings of Edward Borein by John Galvin, 1971. Borein did not date his etchings so no date has been estimated for this one. Borein passed away in 1945 so we know it predates that. Condition: This etching was treated by a professional paper conservator and is in excellent condition. It is framed without matting so that the full extent of the paper is visible. Spacers separate the etching from the glass of the frame. Provenance: from the collection of Katherine H. Rust
