Once Known Native American Potter

Small Hopi bowls such as this one have been made on the Hopi Reservation since at least the beginning of the 20th century.  Primarily, they have been made to sell to tourists and collectors.  They are traditional in every manner of construction, painting, and firing and are a convenient size for travelers to hand-carry home.

Condition:  There is some abrasion of the painted design but the bowl is structurally in fine condition.

Provenance: ex. coll. Frances Sonnenberg, Santa Fe resident.
