This Hopi dish has two drilled holes at the edge of the rim to facilitate hanging it for display. The Katsina imagery painted on the interior is probably that of Nakiachop, quite an old katsina. It was first mentioned by Stephen in the 1890s as a katsina dancing in the Sio Salako dance on First Mesa. He is considered to be a Salako Warrior or Silent Warrior. Condition: the dish is in original condition Provenance: from the collection of Katherine H. Rust
