Harry Williams

This is an excellent rendition of a Native American Eagle Dancer.  Eagle Dances are performed by a number of native tribesPlains and Pueblo among them.  The Navajo Yei figure painted on the loin cloth would indicate that this is a Navajo Eagle Dancer.  The artist obviously is an accomplished one as demonstrated in the fine detail on the feathers and clothing.  Details such as those are not an easy task in watercolor medium.

Signature of Harry Williams I have not been able to find Harry Williams listed in any of my reference books or on-line.  Although he is not yet included in references surely he will be in the future as he is too accomplished to be overlooked.  He is not a younger artist as the painting is signed Harry Williams and dated 1959 lower right.  It is also signed in pencil on verso Harry Williams Group 8 Art Club L. Wyman $15.  It is possible that he has passed away or did not continue painting as a career.

Condition: very good condition
