Pair of Zuni Pueblo Multi-stone Butterfly Earrings [SOLD]

Jewelers at Zuni Pueblo are recognized as outstanding lapidary artists known for their ability to work the tiniest pieces of stone into creations that mimic nature. These delicately made butterflies are a fabulous example of fine early Zuni inlay work. Small pieces of natural stones are set to form lovely little butterflies. Perfectly made silver bezels surround the stones and silver wires form the antennae. These look to have been made in the 1940s and are equipped with screw back attachments.
