San Ildefonso Pueblo Polished Black Jar with a Stopper Lid [SOLD]

Anita Martinez was a daughter of Santana and Adam Martinez and she was the mother of Barbara Gonzales and Kathy Pino, both of whom are potters of note. Anita, too, was a potter and was an award winning one. She consistently won awards at Santa Fe Indian Market and was featured in a number of exhibitions as early as 1974.
This small black jar with a stopper is typical of her style of pottery. It is stone-polished blackware without any painted decoration.
Condition: The jar and lid are in original excellent condition.
