This nacimiento was made for the 2005 Spanish Market by Matthew Vigil who was 12 years old at the time. All the pieces are made of undecorated micaceous clay and are very simply formed by a young artist. The set consists of a sitting Mary, standing Joseph, the Christ Child lays on a blanket in a stilted manger, two animals that could be sheep and a figure that could be a camel with a cloth blanket. Additionally, three wise men bearing gifts accompany the other figures. The nacimiento is signed Matthew Vigil, in pencil under the figure of Mary.
Condition: very good condition.
Provenance: from a Santa Fe collector.
