Eddie Beyuka is best known for his bolas and standing figures of Katsinas and dancers executed in channel inlay with a variety of materials—generally turquoise, mother of pearl, jet, coral, and others-skillfully integrated in his famous creations.
Beyuka was featured in the "Jewels of the Southwest" exhibit at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Santa Fe, in 2002. His work is in the collection of the Peabody Museum, Harvard University, and in the collections of a number of private individuals.
This bola features a Zuni Katsina executed in a variety of materials. A silver basket hangs from the back of the katsina with a small Mudhead Katsina inside. Silver drums hang from the tips. It is stamped EAB ZUNI on the back. Written on the back is #2 AZ HWY, a possible indication that this one is published in an issue of Arizona Highways.
Condition: The bola is in original excellent condition.
Provenance: from a Santa Fe gentleman
